This is the MILK team.

Here’s a collection of outtakes from previous pieces of work I have created over the last year or so.

Happy Birthday!

What makes a “good” blog?

Can someone explain to me, exactly what makes a “good” blog? I consider a blog to be like a website; you can ramble on about your day (obviously) but every now and then you’ll post the development of a piece of work you’ve been working on and then, more so than anything, you will show all of your followers the final outcome.

I follow a bunch of amazing artists on here, genuine artists. Illustrators like my friend Lize: http://lizemeddings.tumblr.com and photographers like my other friend James: http://jamesarchibald.tumblr.com - but still I see kids that are praised for how “amazing” their blog is, yet they contain no original work whatsoever, literally nothing. The closest thing to a piece of “work” is usually a photograph of themselves (not that that’s a bad thing). Writing is also another artform, but your last meal is hardly a work of great literature.

This isn’t a negative rant (although most of the comments I’ll get, if any, will be as if it is), I’m just stating it must be difficult for an artsist to get any kind of recognition. Does anybody really scroll down to see original source of a piece of work? Didn’t think so.

This post isn’t going to change anything/anyone’s opinion but if you are reading this; be fair. Make/draw/do something and let someone else take credit for your work so that they too have an “amazing” blog. If that’s how Tumblr works? It seems to be the way…

Be cool and play nice.

Today I joined MILK Videography.

My friend @roseellendix is graduating (and leaving me) in a couple of weeks. Check out her showreel; she’s created some awesome pieces of work.

This is an incredible example of animation. I’m definitely going to try something like this.

I’m still getting used to operating my camera and so I wanted to practise despite having “nothing” to film. This is just test footage, please don’t think that I’m showing off about things that I own.

You can also watch The Bedroom Sessions with @benjionelung on Vimeo.

I live with my girlfriend in Hereford where I study film & media. I skateboard, I write music and I like video games where you run sideways.
